It's not about “The Pot” it's about “The Patient”
Let's be honest, most of us have had some preconceived opinions of people who smoke cannabis. That was me, not so long ago - extremely opinionated and not educated!
Try researching the benefits of CBD on the internet, and you will soon realize that, without a doubt, it is not all about stoners. There are huge huge benefits from Cannabis!
Read our guide to CBD here!
The facts are that scientists have proven time and time again, Cannabis definitely has medicinal properties which could be life-changing to millions of people suffering from debilitating diseases, chronic pain, and neurological problems. It is a natural plant that can be used by children, adults, and animals.
Cannabis has given millions of people hope. So ultimately it’s not all about getting stoned, it's about getting better. I think it is a gift from God.
What changed my mind about Cannabis?
In 2012 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, a debilitating autoimmune disease that affects the body’s joints. It is extremely painful and meds can only slow down the disease. My RA specialists prescribed a multitude of pills all with serious side effects which could cause liver damage, blindness, and hair loss, to name a few.
Did these prescribed pills take away the pain or put it into remission? Maybe sometimes, a bit, but not all the time
Then, in 2019 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, another incurable autoimmune disease. Something triggers the immune system into attacking the body's central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), it causes neuropathic pain (numbness, tingling, and very unpleasant sensations in your arms, legs hands, feet, and causes severe spasms), MS causes fatigue, memory loss, and it affects your speech, vision, balance and more. In extreme cases, it can also lead to blindness and paralysis. When I learned I had MS, I honestly thought my life was over, as I knew it. To my surprise, my neurologist didn’t write yet another script, he suggested that I use cannabis extracts, my children laughed.. Mom was going to become a stoner!
I delved into the internet, searching for anything Cannabis-related. And so my journey and a new life began…
Here are some interesting facts about CBD.
My Cannabis Journey
I started with a very low dose of CBD, 2.5mg twice a day, slowly increasing the dose until I could feel the difference which is about 30mg per day. I use both oil tinctures and my fabulous homemade CBD gummy bears.
Does CBD make a difference to MS Disease?
CBD also helped with my ADHD, I was much calmer, had less anxiety and I slept better, and my general health definitely improved. Most importantly, I dropped a lot fewer glasses because my shaking stopped, I had less severe pain, my mindset became positive, and the fact I have 2 auto-immune diseases, I feel incredibly healthy and blessed, I am completely mobile and even my thinning hair has grown back thicker than ever before (oh yes, CBD promotes hair growth!) I can honestly say since using CBD, I hardly notice the symptoms.
But, there are times when I certainly do and need something stronger for the pain.
Benefits of Blending CBD with THC
Clinical Research has proven that a specific “custom” blend with various ratios of CBD and THC can be used far more effectively when dealing with the symptoms of some medical conditions listed below, rather than CBD alone:
Combinations can range from a blend of CBD and THC:
CBD-dominant range from 20:1 to 1:1
THC-dominant range from 1:10 to 1:1
How and why to Blend THC with CBD?
CBD - relaxes deep muscles, aids spasms, neuropathic pain, and tremors, it calms the psychoactive “high” effects associated with THC
THC - works on chronic pain & nausea, it calms anxiety sufferers and those who suffer from insomnia.
Both THC and CBD compounds have very specific functions, one won't work as well without the other. It’s a match made in heaven, 2 plants from the same family, brothers or sisters, working together in harmony, (aka “the entourage effect”) now this can offer life-changing medicinal benefits:
CBD and THC Blends May Help with the Following
Autism
Cancer
Diabetes
Epilepsy
Gastrointestinal disorder
HIV/Aids
Parental Neuropathy
Multiple sclerosis
Muscular dystrophy
Parkinsons disease
Post operation
Spasms and cramps
Sleep apnea
Spinal injuries
Tourette’s
Cannabis is not a miracle plant
You might still have pain and it will not cure all diseases but, honestly, is it not worth a try? I still believe pharmaceuticals have a place, but unless advised by your doctor, you can take meds and CBD, but you might be able to cut my meds as I did from 25 pills a day to 5 a day!
Please NEVER go off any prescribed medication without consulting your medical practitioner!
TIPS:
Always start on a low dose and increase slowly until you find your sweet spot.
